The Celestion 15X-R Ditton Hi-Fi British Speaker is a premium audio component that delivers an authentic and engaging listening experience. Designed and manufactured in the United Kingdom, this speaker embodies the rich heritage of Celestion's legendary speaker design.
The 15X-R Ditton is a two-way bass reflex speaker housing a 15-inch low frequency driver and a 1-inch soft dome tweeter. The low frequency driver boasts a powerful neodymium magnet with a voice coil that provides exceptional responsiveness and thickness for impressive bass performance. Its cone is made of reinforced paper, providing both rigidity and high efficiency.
The 1-inch tweeter is designed with a soft dome material, creating a wide and smooth frequency response. This ensures a natural and detailed sound with excellent clarity and definition. The tweeter is also protected by a hemp cone midrange driver which provides a rich, warm and musical character.
The cabinet of the 15X-R Ditton is constructed from high-grade MDF, chosen for its excellent acoustic properties. It is braced internally to minimize resonance and distortion, resulting in precise and accurate sound reproduction. The speaker is also finished with a high quality real wood veneer, giving it a sleek and sophisticated appearance.
Additionally, the Celestion 15X-R Ditton comes with high-quality terminals, tested to ensure a reliable and secure connection with speaker cables. The speaker's bass reflex design also increases its efficiency and improves low frequency response.
With its powerful and faithful sound, the Celestion 15X-R Ditton is perfect for any Hi-Fi system that demands a superior level of detail, accuracy, and musicality. It's a true testament to Celestion's long-standing commitment to excellence and their expertise in speaker design.

Anyway, they need some attention, but the speakers seem to be fully functional. A bit of crackle from the tuner but speakers are good. Kind of reminiscent a tube but not so intense. They give a really nice hollow sound that doesn't translate in video form.
I don't have the equipment to isolate individual speakers, but it sounds as if they all issue sound. The housing on these 2 is MDF. I didn't even know they were making items with MDF so long ago.
